First single, Upplyst, out August 12th. Taken from upcoming album "1998", out in October. Released through Luxury in Scandinavia, via Ceremony in the US.
Bam Spacey - "Upplyst"
Malmö's Swedish producer Bam Spacey, moniker of Magnus Johansson, returns with grasping lead single "Upplyst". His debut full-length, 1998 is to be released via Brooklyn's Ceremony and Gothenburg's Luxury label in Scandinavia.
Today, I encountered the music of one Swedish producer named Bam Spacey, aka Magnus Johansson, and boy, is his music beautiful. Upplyst is the magnificent lead single off 1998, Bam Spacey's debut album, to be released via Ceremony on October 14. The electronic song is weightless, defying the laws of gravity, with its whisper-y vocal caresses and other wordly, ethereal production. Upplyst is about as cinematic as it gets. It's a song that could soundtrack any grandiose, life changing event to satisfying result. Curious to hear more, I ended up greatly enjoying Bam Spacey's River, from a year ago, which you can find below. This one pulses and gleams more urgently, with an upbeat and buoyant synthline, but it's still incredibly dreamy and dramatic, in an M83 sort of way.
