Flash back to when this was my front yard. I lived in a tree house on this river through the summer and fall, watching the leaves around me turn golden and deep red around the river. The mist rose through the trees in the mornings and was replaced by wood smoke from our hearths in the evenings. It smelled like mud and smoke and rain, and all the plants were happy. Music drifted from the main house with the sound of laughter and impromptu cooking, dampened by the serenity of the forest.
