Chapter 4: The truth may burn
Akane Pov:
I could not deny that Kakashi's words played in my head. It was not because I was planning to follow them. That was far from the truth. Every time I vomited blood due to the Konoha leaders.
The reason why they played in my head was simply because I wished not to keep the cycle, and yet it did not mean I wished to just leave them unpunished. Kakashi did not know the extent of my pain, so he had no right to lecture me.
Walking back home at night. Do I even call it home? The Hyuga family was just one big colosseum show, and I was the gladiator they bet on. Clenching my shoulder that had experienced beating, I wished I had learned medical ninjutsu.
"Huh. Surviving is hard enough. No time to become a doctor." I sighed. At least Sakura had the dream of becoming a medic. I know she would be the best doctor. Maybe she could heal me one day? Wishful thinking clouded my heart once again.
From the corner of my eye, I could see someone I expected not to see. Under the streetlight, waiting for me. Pausing for a moment, the wind ruffled my kimono-style black hoodie, my pastel blue hair, and my Japanese-style white skirt. I was wearing denim, white sneakers for better movement.
"Kakashi sensei, to what do I owe the visit?" I asked as I approached him. His apathetic eyes locked with mine, a reflection of some sort was what we are.
"What do you know about the Uchiha massacre?" Kakashi asked off the bat. I was slightly taken aback that he cared to know. With scorn, I replied coldly. "Isn't five years a long period for you to ask just now?" If he truthfully cared where was he five years ago?
Kakashi nodded his head once or twice. "Indeed, it is." A melancholic chuckle left my lips as I stood next to him, leaning on the street light as well. "The history loop we live in, do you wish to replay it?" I asked him, unsure what he wished for, or if I could share some of my knowledge with him.
Kakashi glanced towards the starry sky; his form seemed desolate. "Sometimes duty is heavier than personal desires." He stated. My smirk deepened, catching his meaning. Sadly, our duties are not the same.
"The Uchiha massacre is trickier than it seems. My guts are telling me that the village has a hand in it." I hinted, and a sense of anger filled me.
Standing straight, moving a few steps to face him, I continued. "If one day the truth is revealed to be worse than what we believe. Konoha might as well be burned down to flames, by the very clan they tried to extinguish its fire."
Taking a small breath, then turned around. " I have no reason to be evil. But if I find one, I will bring hell on earth and burn every single dream and hope of the people that burned mine." I left my last warning.
For now, I promised the 3rd Hokage I would stay for Sasuke. I would protect this village for him. However, if one day Sasuke leaves and his pain turns into raging flames. I would not stop him, staying true to the Uchiha crest that symbolises a fan.
