Summary: First impressions always lasts and Kaidan didn't really get a good impression of shepard. Would a second one help? Will Shepard stop being a raging renegade to be grateful? What happens when an immovable object meets unstoppable force?
Less than five minutes later, the on duty C-Sec officers had shown up. They had been just around the corner but something felt off. Kaidan noted how fast they had come almost similar to the stories he heard just like Conatix Industries.
“… And then she just beat their asses with her bare hands. Bare hands,” Joker reported. “With biotics. No ‘normal’ human could do what she did.” He tried to mimic the woman’s actions earlier. He threw a punch which caused him to hurt himself in the process. Kaidan winced at his words.
The C-sec officers nodded as they typed in their omni-tools. Most likely for documentation of the event. Though Kaidan noted how they hadn’t seemed to be really paying attention. After having gotten each one of their personal accounts of the evening, Joker had been the last, the C-sec officers went back to survey the scene mostly to collect the mercenaries who were still yet to come too.
“Joker, remember your actually made of paper,” Harrison quipped. He patted Joker’s back as softly as he could but that didn’t alleviate his friend's mood.
“Oh, ha ha. Big shot, I didn’t see you doing anything to help considering you’re an alliance marine” Joker retorted.
“Correction. Pilot. Besides I’m not as crazy as your friend, Kaidan here. Prince charming trying to save the helpless damsel?”
“Yah, right before he got swept under the rug by an even crazier red headed jock looking marine who just whooped 5 guys. One was a krogan!”
“She wasn’t crazy, she was just trying to defend the civilian who was being harassed.” Kaidan commented on their accusations. He knew he didn’t want to argue but to accuse someone who
wasn’t there to defend themselves left a bitter taste in his mouth.
“Wait. Wait. Hold up. You’re defending her. Even after your standoff?? Kaidan don’t tell me…” Harrison asked, he smirked and raised one eyebrow.
“What?” Kaidan replied confused as ever.
“He’s got it bad...” Harrison said half mocking and half amused as he patted Kaidan’s shoulder with a remorseful face.
“What do—What did I get?” Kaidan said as his face scrunched up a bit. He could feel a slight thrumming at the back of his head.
“Ugh. He says you got the hots for crazy strong girls who can whip anyone's ass. I mean I’m not one to judge but even I wouldn’t touch… ‘that’,” Joker replied, emphasizing his latest words with air quotes to justify his point.
Kaidan couldn’t help roll his eyes. Sometimes his companions acted a bit childishly, “Look, she was just trying to defend the poor girl and she did get injured during the fight. She and the mercenaries may also have been inebriated. I wish it didn’t resort to violence. Now I’m just concerned for both parties,” Kaidan defensively said. In all honesty all he wanted to do was to stop the violence before someone did something they would regret. Just like he had done before, he wished someone had been the voice of reason to him then.
“Just be careful, crazy hot chicks like those always end up in the morgue. And if you're lucky it's just one body,” Harrison advised as he shrugged his shoulders.
Kaidan was close to responding to such advice when Joker groaned out loud, “Can we move past the crazy chick. Not only did she ruin our night but you both can’t stop talking about her. Who is she? The Butcher of Torfan?” joker snorted as he hit both of his friends with the walking stick he was currently using.
“Alright, Jokers got a point, Kaidan. We need you to stop talking about her. We need to find a way to salvage this night,” Harrison remarked as he grabbed both men by their shoulders. He started to direct them to the nearest club on the Citadel.
Kaidan felt both relieved and worried to have dropped the subject. Though he couldn’t help but wonder about the woman back then. Her blood incessantly dripped down her forehead, grey eyes blurred by her own blood and a perpetual smirk etched on her lips yet he could see the twitch of her mouth which signaled pain despite her cocky behavior. Would she be alright? Did she even have a place to stay , Kaidan internally asked. He could tell she was one of them, a soldier of the Alliance particularly an N7. He was able to identify from a quick glance on her jacket that was stitched with the insignia of the N7.
