i saw a reddit post today talking about how they feel like they're a failure because they did not pass the upca. i feel like it would be ironic for me to say something about it because i'm enjoying the benefits of yupi now, but i hate seeing people beating themselves up for something that they no longer have any control over. to those people that share the same sentiments, i want to preface this entry by saying that there is nothing that you lack. i believe there are other ways to get into yupi, although i'm not really familiar with the processes. give it a chance. even if you don't get in after multiple tries, so what? i'm not saying this to be mean. i only say it in hopes that you can realize that your abilities and the extent of your knowledge are not dependent on the schools that you get into. whether you're in a prestigious university or a state college, what you choose to do after you graduate is what really matters. there are so many people who flourish regardless of where they graduated. your path to success does not end if you don't get into yupi. it will only end if you choose to spend all your life grieving what could have been instead of focusing on your main goal. but i get it. i've also made some decisions i've come to regret, and i kept thinking that my life would fall apart because of it. however, i've come to realize that life is not a staircase. instead, it's like a railway with many routes that lead to different outcomes. so long as you make the right choices, there's still a solid chance for you to fulfill your ambitions. the opportunity does not go away because the path you planned to take to get there did not work out. so for those that did not pass the upca/upcat, keep your chin up! there's more opportunities waiting for you beyond the horizon. it is up to you what you choose to do with them, so choose wisely. lagi't lagi para sa bayan, and as always, padayon!
