You probably don't know this about me but I have a kind of talent for organizing trips and acting as a guide in vacation for my family and friends I am traveling with. My loved ones often say I could change jobs and become a travel guide full time lol so I'm glad I can use my skills to make this for you 🥰

Thought you may like to see some of the process. This is refining the sketch after I move it from sketch book, or procreate, depending on what I used - to canvas.

This part is just about broad proportions and any blocks of shadow, just general refining.

After the sketch is done to a decent enough standard, I tend to do most of the revisions in paint, so I don’t want to over detail this part, then I give it a wash of burnt umber (acrylic- ain’t nobody got time for oil paint to dry) -

- this seals the sketch (not foolproof, but good enough) so I’m not smudging the drawing when I paint, and the oil isn’t picking up graphite and going gross. Also, it kills the white, and I can’t abide painting on white canvases.

I only really do this if the painting features a lot of light effects (fire, for this one) as the brightness of the canvas below adds a nice under glow - otherwise I tend to paint on dark backgrounds of neutral grey (a mix of titanium white and burnt umber) - especially helpful for skin tones. Or if I’m doing a monochrome painting, nice vivid block colours.
