The first ice cream store I went to was Jolie cafe. Their flavor selection was pretty standard so I tried butter pecan, double chocolate chip, strawberry, and soft serve. The strawberry was definitely my favorite. It was deliciously fresh. Great for a summer treat.
Next I headed to pinkberry for a tasting. That was a new experience for me because I only ever have original yogurt. I tried the peanut butter, strawberry banana, and chocolate chip cookie. While I won’t be switching from my original yogurt any time soon, the chocolate chip cookie was a surprisingly yummy treat.
Danielle went to 16 Handles, which is self-serve and therefore amazing. Salted caramel is always her favorite, but Coco Loco, made from coconut water, is refreshing and delicious for summer. Sweet Cream was the newest flavor, and it was not that good.

Well, it wasn’t really Simon’s room, it was the first year Gryffindor boys’ dormitory. So it shouldn’t have been odd for him to find another boy there. But he hadn’t been paying enough attention during the Sorting Ceremony, too focused on his own impending Sorting to notice where the other students had been placed. That’s why he was so surprised to find the smarmy boy with the deep V hairline from the train sitting on the bed next to his.
“YOU’RE a Gryffindor?” Simon asked before he could stop himself.
“What, hard of hearing, Snow? This is where the Hat put me.”
Simon glared. The other boy had seemed rude on the train, and now he knew that first impressions had been spot on. He turned to his own bed and busied himself unpacking, ignoring his new roommate and hoping the other boys would wander in soon.
“What, you’re too important to talk to a nobody like me? Hey Snow, I’m talking to you!”
Suddenly Simon felt a sharp pain in the side of his head. He'd thrown a book at him!
"Bloody Hell! Are you insane?" Simon yelled, turning on his roommate and practically fuming.
"Oh, NOW you notice me."
"You shouldn't even BE in this tower!" Simon continued. "What's your name anyway, Tyrannical something or other?"
"Tryannus Basilton Pitch, Snow. But you can call me Baz, as we're such GOOD friends already." He smirked, his lip twitching higher at Simon's clear anger and annoyance.
"Right. Not exactly a heroic name. And you even look like a Slytherin."
Baz's eyes narrowed. "Gryffindor's aren't necessarily heroes, Snow. Don't think just because you're in this House and you've got some kind of destiny that you're meant to save the world or even beat a single Dark wizard. All it means is you've got nerve. And likely not a lot of brain."
Baz stood up and walked toward the door, purposefully shoulder-checking Simon as he passed.
For a moment, Simon worried that he unknowingly crossed some kind of line. He was nervous around Baz for some reason, and wondered if the other boy would actually hurt him. But when Baz got to the door and turned back for a moment, his glare had been replaced once again with a cheeky grin.
"And Snow? Stop stereotyping people based on their hairlines. Makes you seem rather dim."
With that, Baz was gone, leaving Simon alone in the echoing dormitory.
