he sensed the air around him change as the familiar scent of his friend wafted toward him before he felt the tug at his sheets.   ❛   james ?   ❜   he needn’t ask.   he already got his confirmation before but in his sleep-addled state,   it   seemed like the courteous thing to ask.   ❛    what is it ?   ❜   he might have tried to blink away the sleep twice,   perhaps three times,   but his vision was already accustomed to the darkness in their dormitory,   curtesy of his furry little problem.   even so,   instead of being greeted with the sight of his friend,   remus saw that nothing even stood next to his bed.   alas,   the scent indicated otherwise.   ❛   really ?   the cloak ?   who are you hiding from ?    ❜

     JESPER PUTS BOTH HANDS on matthias’ shoulders, and looks him directly in the eyes; it’s like looking into twin pools of ice.  really, really, stupid ice.  he had just survived hellgate, and apparently come out with a taste for survival that jesper isn’t sure . . . reaches all the way to his soul.  guilt did that — even to someone like matthias, bold, brave, and strong as he is.
