Help Needed in an Unreported Missing Person's Case
I only found out about this through facebook and the Moxxy Forensics group which is working on this case. This story is very confusing and has many twists and turns. Currently her son is spearheading the case as the police where she was last seen in Arkansas refuse to take a missing person's report despite the suspicious circumstances. I will be providing a brief summary with an attached websleuths thread and the International Missing Persons Page.
Sherry Lynn Eastman was born on October 4th, 1956 in Illinois. She attended schools in California, before she married William Scott Stephan Eastman on December 29th, 1979. This is where the timeline becomes muddled. At some point, Sherry ends up in Germany and gives birth to her only child, a son in 1981. She may have been stationed there due to possible army service. At some point she ends up in Searcy County, Arkansas and divorces William Eastman in 1982 or 1983. The problem is the last reported contact with Sherry occurs on December 20th, 1982, when she sells a property in San Patricio County, Texas gaining a large, undisclosed sum of money. Eight months before her disappearance she supposedly signs temporary guardianship over her son to a couple, Valeria and Richard George. Half a decade after the sale of the property, the son was illegally adopted by the George's. Both the guardianship and adoption paperwork appear to be forged. A document called a "delayed birth certificate" was issued for the son that gave him a new name and social security number. Sherry's private documents, that would have had her signature on it, were found with Richard George's possessions after his death. This included the son's actual birth certificate.
It is presumed that whatever happened to Sherry between the end of 1982 to 1983 wasn't voluntary. The adoptive siblings confirmed to her son that his mother was Sherry and they claimed that she was dead. Sherry was 26 years old at the time of last contact. The disputed location of the disappearance makes a missing person's report difficult to file. The police in Arkansas refuse to take a missing person's report for Sherry as of 2025. The nature of this missing person's case requires input from the public. If you have information you can email Kaycee Connelly of Moxxy Forensics at [email protected]
