Mona participated in a series of training courses offered for displaced Syrians and Somali and Sudanese refugees. The training includes International Computer Driving License (ICDL) and website design organized by Al-Nada Foundation and supported by UNHCR. Today and through the skills she gained, Mona was able found a job opportunity with a web-design company for a good salary.

 Shaima, the computer trainer who had been conducting these training courses for the past five years, is also a UNHCR outreach volunteer. An amazing woman on World Refugee Day 2015, UNHCR published her success story ( goo.gl/nI6kYP ). Shaima said: “This year we have organized training courses targeting women and adolescent girls”, the courses are: Advertisement Designing course, Electronic Website Designing, and advanced programming training course.” She continued: “After completing the three training courses beneficiaries receive a certification authorized by the Ministry of Social Affairs that may allow them to find a good job opportunity.

  UNHCR and its partners continue to develop joint plans for education interventions. The overarching goal of the Education Sector is to provide access to safe and quality education for affected populations, to strengthen the capacity of the education stakeholders, including communities and local authorities, to deliver an effective education response.

 As part of UNHCR’s role in supporting quality education. Educational training sessions were organized in collaboration through its partners such as ICDL, web designing, English courses and other subjects. Such investment has yielded a benefit to the internally displaced by improving their quality of education.
