"GOOD! I WOULDN'T MISS YOU ANYWAY!!"

He proceeds to 'help' Eda leave by pushing against her legs with all his might, but... she simply doesn't budge. Whether that be his lack of strength ( which would NOT be the case, being the King of Demons... but being this little does have its downsides ), or Eda is cheating.

Obviously it's the latter, and it only makes him more frustrated. After a few moments of unsuccessful pushing... he groans. Very loud.

"GRRRRAAAAAAAHHH!!!" His arms are thrown up in frustration, then he slams his piece against the floor. It doesn't give him the satisfaction of breaking.

They'd been playing for about twenty minutes, and somehow King had barely made any progress. Every time he thought he understood something and played accordingly, Eda would read him some convoluted rule that usually led to his demise. Either this is the worst designed game in existence, or she is seriously messing with him.

the  statement  caused  willow’s  eyebrows  to furrow.  that  couldn’t  possibly  be  true.  and  eda  couldn’t  actually  believe  it,  could  she.  since  knowing  the  owl  lady  personally  there  were  plenty  of  times  she’d  witnessed  the  witch  think  of  someone  else.  there  was  the  time  eda  volunteered  to  accompany  the  others  to  eclipse  lake  when  luz  was  sick.  and  when  she  went  back  to  hexside  to  make  amends  with  principal  bump  just  so  luz  could  enroll  as  a  student.  eda  had  even  helped  save  all  of  willow’s  memories  when  they’d  been  at  risk.  if  what  she’d  said  were  true,  eda  would  never  have  helped  with  any  of  those  things.  

“ that  can’t  possibly  be  true. “  she  argued.  “ you’re  probably  thinking  about  luz  right  now. “ a  knowing  smile  appearing  on  her  face.  

a  frown  settles  on  the  plant  witch’s  face.  it  was  heart-wrenching  hearing  such  words  from   such  a  typically  confident  and  powerful  witch.  head  shakes  gently.  of  course  she  hadn’t  come  to  laugh.  she  would  never  do  something  like  that.  that  wasn’t  the  type  of  person  she  was  or  ever  wanted  to  be. “ no, ma’am. “  quite  the  opposite.  “ luz  thought  i  could  help.  somehow. “  she  wasn’t  sure  what  she  could  do  but  she  would  never  turn  down  and  opportunity  to  offer  assistance.  

the  kitchen  of  the  owl  house  was  currently  what  one  could  consider  a  human  garbage  dump.  human  contraptions  strewn  over  every  square  inch.  as  far  as  her  eyes  could  see.  not  one  of  which  willow  could  identify.  gus  would  definitely  be  losing  it  if  he  were  here.  

she  couldn’t  argue  with  eda’s  words.  at  least  she  didn’t  think  she  could.  they  sounded  wise  and  they  were  coming  from  one  of  the,  if  not  the,  wisest  and  strongest  witches  on  the  isle.  but  somehow  she  wasn’t  sure  they  applied  in  this  exact  situation.  they  also  sounded  like  they  could  have  come  from  one  of  those  mystic  cookies  luz  had  told  her  about,  the  ones  with  the  paper  inside.  but  who  was  she  to  argue  with  the  infamous  owl  lady?

the  young  witch  shrugged  her  shoulders.  she  still  thought  it  wasn’t  the  best  idea,  putting  king  in  whatever  a  microwave  was,  but  she  didn’t  want  to  be  stuck  not  living.  “ i  guess you’re  right… all  right,  king,  in  you  go. “ 

“ how  do  you  do  that?  how  are  you  just  not  afraid.  of  anything. “  the  young  witch  questions,  there’s  a  sadness  in  her  voice.  or  maybe  it  was  guilt.  as  strong  as  she  tried  to  be,  it  seemed  there  was  more  and  more  to  fear.  and  that  fear  was  coming  from  the  side  of  her  she’d  tried  to  squash.  her  weak  side.  her  half-a-witch  side.  the  side  that  was  overgrown  with  self  doubt  and  unease.  willow  felt  so  different  from  the  strong  witch  before  her.  she  wished  to  be  more  like  the  owl  lady.  “ is  there  a  spell  or  a  potion  to  be  like  that? “
