The unseen grave
Ok Arrow fans,
I have given this a lot of thought today and here is my theory on this grave the writers so nicely teased and tortured us with last night. Â (If you havenât watched the season Premiere of Arrow yet, first of all shame on you, and second of all DONâT CONTINUE READING. Â There WILL BE spoilers ahead (the title kind of already spoiled things haha)
So....here we go.
My first reaction was, as most probably had, âThat grave better NOT say Felicity or so help me God!â  Once my Olicity heart stopped racing, I realized one major fact about this person in that grave....
Oliver was the only one there mourning, besides Barry stopping in, and he basically laid claim over that grave. Â He wanted to be left alone to mourn and no one else was by that grave.
Letâs break this down by the characters it could possibly be:
Felicity (bear with me, I donât think it is):
Mama Smoak would be there as well mourning with Oliver, he wouldnât have sole ownership over it no matter if they were married or not. Â She came running when Ray was in the hospital, there is no way she leaves that graveâs side. Felicity has family and friends that would be there as well. Â It is such a fresh grave that I doubt Mama Smoak left that early after her daughter passing away. Â There is no way it is Felicity.
Laurel (not going to lie, my hopes were slightly high until I thought about it):
She also would have other people there that would have more of a claim over that grave than Oliver; Captain Lance, for one, and Sara, who will have been brought back by this time. Â Oliver wouldnât have that alone time or claim as he did when he told Barry to leave him alone to mourn.
Diggle:
Again, his wife would be there mourning. There is no way she leaves that graveside because Oliver needs time to mourn.
Sara:
See Laurel above.
***So this brings me to whom I believe is in that grave, the one person that would really have no one else come mourn for her right away:
THEA
The more I think about it the more I believe that it is her in that grave. Â Here are my arguments:
1. Â Oliver is all she has left. Â I am assuming this was a fresh funeral site so Roy would not have had time to come back yet. Â There is no one else. Â The way Oliver pushed Barry away, I am assuming Felicity is giving him space to grieve for his last remaining family member. Â He has sole ownership over that gravesite.
2. She has become really reckless.  She talks about the rush in the field, Oliver gave her that speech about staying in control in the field, keeping a level head which she clearly isnât.  To me that screams, âIâm going to go flying into a situation without being careful and something bad is going to happen.  Plus the whole âLazurus-Pit-side-effectâ thing going on, I wouldnât put it past her to try to take on DD on her own and not survive.
4. Guggenheim wrote that this is going to be a forever death and then he began to speak about how weâve already ventured into the Lauzrus Pit territory and how that wouldnât be the case again. Â I feel this was a slight nod to Speedy already being saved once and it wonât happen again.
5. Â This is the final straw to propel Oliver into the full Green Arrow. Â All summer, people were talking about how a hero needed one major event to propel them fully into their persona. Â Oliver said that he felt he had to go back into the darkness to win but then said he would fight the darkness with light. Â I believe, not only Felicity, but Thea as well keeps him in that light. Â Her death is going to solidify his path into the light so much more than Felicityâs death would. Â I believe her death will propel him to protect and make sure no one suffers from the terrible loss he has in his life.
So there it is, as much as I hate to say it, I really feel it is Thea.  The major point being that Oliver is by that grave by himself and she is the only person that wouldnât have anyone else there mourning for her and she is the only person that would cause other people to respect Oliverâs âclaimâ over the grave to allow him to mourn privately.
(Hopefully this wasnât written poorly, I thought about it all day and I just had to get it out of my head.)
Thoughts?Â
@jbuffyangel, what do you think?
