untitled
translucently glittering as she
rose from where I could not see.
shrouded in the unsettled and
disguised among the unwanted.
we bashfully step aside
when she complains
yet gracefully reappear
when her gaze dips.
burning and yearning,
chirping and flirting
few people see her for more
than when she is,
when she isn’t,
someone else is.
she’s wanted by all,
loved by all, yet when she’s gone
most everyone dwells on…
…long into the night,
the cool dark night.
lit with silver, painted black
even the stars said, don’t ever come back.
they can wish
they can want
but what it is,
is what it wants.
