* he’s practically flown up the stairs of the apartment complex, duffel bag in tow ( and more out of breath than he should be ). for all jack knows, he’s still on vacation with his family; a bit of a lie about the duration of his time away has opened an opportunity for a surprise return. it’s good to be back in the city, and it’s most certainly good to return to one’s best friend and pick up right where you’d left off.
however, brow furrows as he reaches his apartment. keys are absent from his pocket, and a frantic comb through his things implies that the literal key to his plan has been left behind. oh, well. perhaps a more direct approach will prove more satisfactory.

HEAVY GREY CLOUDS ENSHROUDED THE CITY, proving to be a sure unspoken promise of what the weather was going to be like later tonight. The Brooklyn leader didn’t look forward to it, personally. Sighing heavily, he stood by his usual place on the pier, listening to the hubbub of scattered newsboys confabulate, and laugh amongst themselves as the sun set low on the horizon. Turning his gaze, he saw a familiar face sauntering into the harbor, and he smirked, unable to hide his amusement. Swiftly, he climbed down from his perch, ready to meet his guest.
“ Well if it ain’t Jack be nimble, Jack be quick.” He greeted, before spitting into his hand, and extended his reach –– offering his open palm to the other Newsboy. “ To what do we owe th’ pleasure? “
