The Battle of Fort Howley
This is perhaps the most involved illustration I have come to complete in my career to date and I am really happy to finally get to share it. I have a newfound respect for painters int he Napoleonic era doing these crazy detailed battle scenes, and I truly had fun with it. Everything was an absolute riveting challenge, 6 weeks of plucking at each phase and pass of lighting and environmental elements. The scene is meant to capture the moments after Colonel Francis Emberfell and the Wiskusset 17th arrive to defend Fort Howley and the rebel forces stationed there from Imperial attack.
