Merlin’s foreign exchange was supposed to be an adventure, but it turned into a teenage drama during the first day and by the holidays already resembled an overly romantic Christmas movie. Long cold winter nights, huge piles of snow and learning noun cases that made his head hurt had all been part of the plan; falling for his annoying flat mate, huskies, glass igloos and Northern Lights had not.

University AU Rating: R Author: Tossuka Wordcount: 9056 Now, this fic - it’s a quick journey from hate-land to fluff-land; all around Finland. It also has ridiculously romantic resolves, oblivious and pining Merlin & Arthur, and amazing insights by their friends as they hear the story months afterwards. It leaves you with the feeling that there should have been MORE, because it is so SWEET, and you just want it to go on forever. 

It also shows a insanely magical and romantic Christmas, so, enjoy it with gingerbread!

Talk about slow building! It takes the longest while for this story to start being anywhere near ship-y, although we all know it was love at first sight - the boys clearly didn't get the memo for the longest while. It is a epic story, with a believable universe behind it, and you really get to know this characters and feel for them - all of them. Completely worth its size. Kudos for Mordred, the most sensible one of the whole group.

Arthur's back at college for a new semester, but he's having a hard time falling back into his old routine after his father died over the summer break. In an attempt to distract himself (and pad his resume), he starts writing articles for one of the school newspapers. Unfortunately, he's assigned to write about art (and one art student in particular, one that he can't stop thinking about) even though it's something he knows nothing about.

When it comes to Art, am as much of an enthusiast as Arthur is in that fic - which is saying, not much - then, suddenly, he finds himself loving the way Merlin does it. And by it, of course, I mean the whole package, including the art. The smut is INSANELY HOT. I was truly... NO IDEA HOW TO DESCRIBE. It also has its own track list, that you can find in the end notes.

One of the things I enjoy the most in the Merlin/Arthur relationship is the banter. Now, this fic takes it to a whole new level. There are a number of elements that I didn't know about UK debating teams, but, thankfully, the author gracefully shared them with us; so, you might want to read the final notes before starting the fic. Also, tons of eye fucking.

Relationships aren't simple - not when you are a grown up and has crazy hours. Arthur and Merlin are not quite that grown yet, but they are already learning that if you don't -make time-, things will never fall on their laps. Lovely reading, some sweet angst and loads of fluff.
