Watched a video about a theory involving another planet where the Asteroid Belt currently is that broke apart due to crazy fun conspiracy reasons, though it made me think about how the entities on Earth would have reacted to such a thing happening. Even if they were far enough away that a planet exploding only had minimal consequences, they probably saw some sort of light show for a little bit.
And for guys like Death, it's an uncomfortable reminder of what his final job will be. Turning off the last of the lights, so to speak, getting everything cleaned up and put away. And everyone. It's not something he talks about, don't wanna be morbid, or borrow grief from the future, but it gives a certain weight to his interactions with the others. He cares for them very much.
For guys like Dark, Twilight, Shadow, Quiet, and Unexplained Noises, the light show of a planet going kaboom is a worrying thing. They've experienced meteor showers, the worst of which for them was the KT Event that wiped out the dinosaurs. Ergo, this is nerve-wracking for all the reasons, especially since everyone remembers how impacts affect everything. But Death states that this won't be too big a problem for them. Maybe some loose debris might pelt the planet a bit, but they should be fine. All's well.
...Perhaps not for Mars, or Venus, or the poor, doomed Maldek. But Earth lives another day. For now.
