A major con of writing characters with a wide variety of linguistic backgrounds, and doing flashbacks to their youth is that you are constantly realizing your research missed something and saying things like;"Fuck 'bruv' was in use in the mid 80s and is England wide today but I forgot to check if those happened at the same kind at it is actually weird for a Northern kid to say it in the mid 80s." Pros doing more research and getting to decide if he is going to call his cousin he is in not as secret as they hope gay relationship with 'star' or 'our kid'.
Fonts hard
This in progress, but I am working on the design for the monument for Ellen (Violet) and Chase (Cinnabar)'s induction cohort in We Don't Need No Education I think I have got things almost right for them and Bob (Pewter) but centering is hard and I'm really not confident in the Ogham. In terms of rendering and transcription I am pretty confident in the long count, Hebrew, Younger Futhark, Greek, and Latin scrips. And reasonably confident in the actual words/meaning of everything written particularly since while the people making this know them better than I do they are not truly fluent in all of them.
Like they have had some classes in languages that are culturally important to them, but didn't grow up speaking Old Norse, Old Irish, ect.
And I haven't even started on all of the other people who joined with them. But since only these three show up in the main Unequalverse story line this is nominally just backstory to I may just include a cut jumping over them or something.
I need to write some fucked up straight people and/or to onscreen my two(2) decent person queer characters.
A big part of the Unequalverse was supposed to originally be that queerness was anti-correlated with being a bad person even if the base rate of both was high enough for individual characters to have some Unfortunate Implications. But I ended up deciding some characters originally intended as straight were queer, and in fact decided a certain mythological figure who is famous for being either a cool rebel or embodiment of evil depending on who you ask only became like that after trying to transition and getting kicked out of home (Heaven) then (literally) demonized so hard that the setting's partially belief magic system made her go along with people's negative stereotypes about her.
At the same time I started not giving screen time to the characters who were being boring about things like not committing war crimes.
Maybe I need to put the Dutch East India company back onscreen.
