           he’s supposed to make it quick.  in and out,  long distance kill.  a shot to the head each.  the asset is priority.  then the girl.  then the doctor.  he’s done this in simulations more times than he can count,  run courses,  proven he can do this.  if he finishes the mission,  they’ll let him out more.  they promised he’d get to see the world if he just does this for them.  it’s easy.  it’s should be easy.  it doesn’t feel easy.  for one,  everything is so loud here.  there’s too much energy,  too many people,  too much noise.  it’s why he plans to get closer,  unable to focus from across the street.  and then he’d gotten distracted by one of them.  he was trying to get closer to the house,  trying to understand why she feels familiar.  he hadn’t been paying enough attention to realize someone was coming up behind him until it was a little too late.  he only has enough time to turn around,  one hand sliding beneath his jacket to feel for his sidearm. 

head bowed again, the knitted beanie slowly coming to shape on her lap suddenly catches her whole attention --- if anything to avoid the embarrassment of overstepping on matters in which she doesn't belong to, of a family that she's not part of. tools brought together and placed on coffee table, item of clothing is raised in the air to give it one last look then offered to the girl.             “  no—  ”  the word is quickly uttered with a shake of her head.  her hand lifts to touch aspen’s jaw,  thumb brushing against her skin.  however uncertain things might bet between them right now she never wants the other woman to feel guilt for her feelings.  she never wants her to regret opening herself up to her.  she has a beautiful heart and it should never have had to have been buried as deeply as it is.  she steps back closer to her,  earnestness in her gaze  “  don’t say sorry.  not for your heart.  ”
