I think I might, once I figure out my main plot hook! Like I said in the previous post, my 3AM idea was pretty flawed and needs to be reconfigured for it to make any sense... I have a vague idea about how to fix it but it’s like at the tip of my tongue and eluding me.

But I totally feel you!!! I really want to write a fanfiction — a really long plot heavy one — for it because I haven’t had much luck finding anything like that in the fandom! Granted, I haven’t been looking for very long... But most of the fics I saw are Jesper/Wylan one shots. Which are very valid and wonderful and I enjoyed reading some of those, but I just want a super long, canon compliant sequel adventure that rips my heart out at times and that’s exactly what I want to write.

So absolutely inspirationally supportive and friendly and thoughtful, a heckin’ icon with your creativity in your events and creations… I could. Go on and on. BUT ONTO ANOTHER THING. I know it’s recent, but I was immediately infatuated with Project: Vestige. It’s such a unique concept, the characters are already so lovable, and I just know that with your writing skill and style, I’m going to absolutely adore everything you post about it. Thanks! While you’re absolutely right and I’m aware of this, I don’t think I’m going to add it. 

My glossary post is specifically for Writeblr terminology and OC used here refers to original characters almost all the time. While it can be used for original content, it’s very uncommon in this community.

It’s not meant to cover all terms used in the tumblr or internet community as a whole, and even now I struggle with a lot of the terms people ask me to put on there because they tend to be too specific, or in my opinion, not widely used enough to warrant it. 

1. Your first OC ever?

Oh man... What qualifies as my first? If you count imaginary friends, it’s probably Koro-chan? She was my imaginary friend when I was like... 3. 

I know there was also a light-hearted fairy-tale-world-esque fantasy setting I was writing for in first grade. I literally cannot remember a single thing about my characters there, but I would assume it was like fairies and mermaids which were creatures that I was super into back then. Probably with blonde hair, because I was really envious of light-colored hair when I was younger.

I’ve been writing since I was about 5 years old, and I cannot remember most of what I’ve written!

Otherwise my first characters that I created when I started roleplaying were terrible self-inserts and it’s questionable whether they actually count as OCs since it was literally me.

4. A character you rarely talk about?

I think I’m going to talk about Cass for this! She’s one of my coolest characters ever I think, and my other OCs will be featured in the near future since I’m going to start pushing their WIPs more~

Cass is one of my OCs that’ll feature as a minor character in Wanderlust! She’s an older character in her 60s and is probably the most badass people in existence.

So for those of you who might be unfamiliar with Wanderlust, it’s an urban fantasy setting where the existence of magic and witches have recently come to light outside of the magical community. The government has outlawed all magic and have decided to arrest all witches in response. Although the reveal of their existence was relatively recent, there has been a lot of turmoil and conflicts within the witches for a really long time.

Cass is one of the most influential and notable witches from the older generation. She was involved in a lot of power struggle and conflicts back when she was younger and emerged as a huge power player who would eventually shape a lot of the magical community that the main characters of Wanderlust will experience. She’s always been extremely ambitious and power hungry with the talent and know-how to achieve all of her political and magical goals. She also grew up in an environment where she couldn’t really trust anybody but herself, so she was determined to make herself powerful with no one else’s help.

Then, she meets and falls in love with her husband, Lee (written by @decantae) and they become as a huge power couple. A lot of their actions, achievements and efforts lead semi-directly into the main plot of Wanderlust.

Eventually, a lot of exciting life things happen, and Cass changes a lot. By the time she’ll appear in Wanderlust, she has people she cares for and has gone as far as giving up her magic for them — though it’s still unclear how that’s possible for rest of the magical community. She’s still powerful and has a lot of influence but she’s mostly removed herself from the politics and fighting within the witches. Her personality doesn’t go through substantial change and I don’t think it ever will, but she’s a hell of a lot wiser now and has completely different motives than before. Instead of vying for power, her priority is her family now — which is something that she never would’ve even considered in her youth — even if she’s maybe not the best at keeping it together. She’s trying her best.

4) Imagine your OCs reacting towards staying overnight at an incredibly shady motel

(So @decantae was too busy to join us for this lil scene, so there are actually two missing characters: Astrid and Mal. Thanks so much to @autofoebia for writing their OC, King!)

“Is it too late to go back? I’d prefer lethal injection to sleeping on that bed.” King said, stringing one limp arm over Jess’ shoulder while the other adjusted under the weight of three different duffel bags. “All in favor of returning to the van say ‘aye’.”

“Aye—”

“Jess, you were the one that was complaining about sleeping in the van and not being able to shower,” Aiden sighed, fixing her with a flat stare. The days of nonstop travel had left their mark: The dark circles underneath his eyes were a testament to that. “I told you guys that we should’ve just settled for the haunted hotel we passed by a while back.”

“Again, lethal injection. Sounds much more peaceful.” King said as he dragged himself and Jess past the threshold into the room, “ghosts and I don’t mix, Philips. At least here all I’ve got to worry about is bed bugs and STDs.”

“You don’t need to worry about STDs if you’re not getting laid, King.” Jess kicked open the bathroom door and shuddered at the contents. “Look, I take it back okay? I can live with truck stop showers if this is the alternative, let’s just go and never come back.”

11) What happens when your OCs meet a hitchhiker?

So this actually happens within the story, so you’ll find out ;)

It involves mirrors, a guitar and gay boyfriends. Whether it’ll be a good experience or not remains to be seen...

9) Do you have a faceclaim / voiceclaim for your OC?

Yes actually! I come from a roleplaying background that required real-life face claims for every character, so that habit stuck with me. It’s an integral part of my character creation process now — for non-high fantasy genres, at least. (I usually use art or just forego a face claim for fantasy... because i am lazy and i hate finding character art)

23) What is a random fact about your OC?

I am suddenly blanking on everything about my characters s e n d  h e l p

hmmm... In one of the original drafts of Wanderlust, we had a scene where the main characters go shopping at a crappy gas station. As a joke, I found a novelty mint called Slut Pills online, and I had Jess buy it. Now Slut Pills is an inside joke between @autofoebia, @decantae and I, and we promised each other that we would reference it in all future drafts of Wanderlust.

So Jess = Slut Pills. It’s symbolism now. Additionally, we have non-serious headcanons that her demon boyfriend will charm them with sketchy love magic just for fun so that they truly become Slut Pills.
