I can’t be the only one frustrated and upset that Deltarune is using characters from Undertale but doesn’t connect to any timeline and doesn’t even take place in the same universe?
Why incorporate UT characters but not use the universe they’re from that was just as important and interesting? Why not make an entirely original game with entirely original characters?
The fact that it’s a free, episodic, and “demo” (or something) game kinda implies it’s not going to be as big and in-depth as Undertale, no justification for what and when the hell this game and its setting is. Why not a short, episodic prequel if anything?
I think the Switch game teased Gaster (or something), right? If that was related to Deltarune, then basically anything new we learn about the UT characters is basically rendered moot because it’s not part of Undertale canon.
Honestly this is sort of feeling like the direct-to-DVD, TV-only sequel to a classic film.
I wish I could gather my thoughts and word myself better, but I’m just so damn frustrated right now and arguing with people over this is pissing me off.
