So I’ve seen a bunch of undertale ARGs that have some creepy otherworldly entity corrupting and changing the game, for some reason or purpose.
Usually for bad or evil reasons.
Well, what about a more positive twist on the idea?
The entity tries to find something to connect with to communicate with the player. But everything it tries just crashes the game or messes it up immensely, like how it happens in other ARGs.
But then it finally finds a vessel, someone who’s almost just like it.
Someone else who’s been long forgotten and stuck in between the code and fabric of the world it’s been corrupting. Or at least, was made to be that way in terms of the code. Since in terms of the code, interaction wise, Gaster isn’t really a person.
Gaster. Or at least, who the fandom all collectively thinks is Gaster.
So when the player goes through waterfall once more, they encounter the gray door.
When they interact with the Gaster sprite, it disappears as usual. But before the game crashes entirely, again, a text box appears before it does.
It says: PL^A_E BRIN= A G+L@EN FLO#ER
(Translation (just in case)): PLEASE BRING A GOLDEN FLOWER
So when the player restarts the game from the beginning again, a new interaction is suddenly possible.
They can interact with the bed of golden flowers that Frisk first lands in. So they grab one of the bigger flowers and continue the game.
Surprisingly, things are normal, except for a few little sprite glitches that happen for a second.
When the player finally gets to waterfall, the gray door is back, except there are a few glitchy sprites from other parts of waterfall around it.
When the player enters the room and interacts with the Gaster sprite again, it doesn’t disappear. Instead, a prompt appears.
The player chooses yes, causing the game to glitch again, but not as bad as previous times.
Instead, just the Gaster sprite glitches, becoming malformed and stretched out before suddenly snapping back to normal. Except for one thing:
The golden flower is now on top of the droopy eye socket.
(Translation (just in case)): HELLO…
This whole thing could probably be written and explained better, I’m not the best at writing this kinda stuff, but I hope I still got the idea across.
