Art is a luxury for a good reason. It takes time, energy, lots of deleted and crumpled up papers to get to a level you finally look at your art to say ‘good enough’.

It’s harder when you try to sell your art and no one buys, or to feel discouraged that maybe your art wasn’t as good as you thought.

Don’t underprice your art, you spent a lot of time learning just so you could draw that character you loved so much, or to open visuals to your ideas.

It took me 6 years and a lot of tablets to get where I am and sometimes I might underprice, but just remember you’re worth the money for your work.

Time is money. Art is work. 

Just remember all the progress you made all those months, years, etc.

The boy sat quietly on campus grounds, in the shade of a tall tree which cast soft shadows around him, flipping through his portfolio of pictures. His fingers trailing shakily along the black and white images. He recalled the unfortunate circumstances of the past morning, the aggressive name calling and teasing. Twitch. He hated that name. He couldn’t control it. It wasn’t his fault. He exhaled, his bag resting against his side and the deep red jacket draped over the top of it.

A second shadow seemed to intrude on his own, causing him to look up with a rather disgruntled expression before noticing who exactly it was causing him to recoil, pressing back against the tree out of sheer panic. Chloe was never exactly the nice, friendly or sensitive type. He was practically petrified of her when he was alone and not carrying for once.
