There's a small, black cat rubbing up against Mettabug's leg. After it lets out a soft meow, it looks up at him with bright lilac eyes. Surprise!

Mettatons’ sensors alerted him to something rubbing against his leg. He looked down to find- oh, my! A pointy dog.

Well, he couldn’t let a perfectly good dog go unpet! He reached down to pet it, but froze as it made an... odd... sound, not unlike a little girl screaming very quietly.

Understandable. There were plenty of reasons to scream down here. He pet the screaming dog.

* WHAT ARE YOU DOING OFF-DUTY, DARLING?

Come to think of it, he’d never seen a dog with purple eyes. What WAS this dog?

Tarma stood by the CORE and fidgeted, looking around apprehensively. She reached for the slip of paper in her pocket and turned it over, reading it once more.

“SENTRY TARMA! Please report to your post at the CORE tomorrow evening after your regular duties! You have been reassigned as a BODYGUARD, as per request of Dr.Alphys, until further notice.*

*I was told to come here and wait, but...what’s taking so long? Besides, Alphys doesn’t leave the lab often. Why bother with a bodyguard? And why not ask me herself?

Tarma’s train of thought was broken by the sound heels clacking in the distance.
