Besides.. he was there but his part in the war was minuscule. Even so.. he remembers it well. “.....?” Grillby cocks his head, in a questioning way. 

          “      HUMAN !      ”      the tall monster bounds over with excitement ,    and as if he couldn’t grin more ,    he was grinning with such zeal he could put everyone else to shame with how enthusiastic he was.      “      HOW  HAVE  YOU  BEEN ?      I  DO  HOPE  THAT YOU’RE  DOING  WELL !      AS  THE  GREAT  (    UNCLE    )  PAPYRUS ,    IT  IS  MY  DUTY  TO  ENSURE  THAT  MY  FRIEND  (  AND    ...    NIECE ?    )  IS  DOING  WELL !      ”

          it is then he realizes he has forgotten to say what he was here to do.      “      RIGHT ,    I  FORGOT  TO  MENTION  WHY  I’M  HERE.      ”      a pause ,    as he thinks on what he was about to say.      he wanted it to sound right ,    after all !      “      WELL ,    TO  BE  REALLY  HONEST ,    I’VE  JUST  MISSED  SEEING  YOU.      IT’S  BEEN  A  WHILE !      ”

“…I GUESS I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO ACCEPT THIS FATE.”

“FRISK, HOW COULD YOU HAVE LET ME DOWN, WHEN YOU NEVER PICKED ME UP? I AM STILL VERY MUCH STANDING! NOR AM I UPSET.”

“Yeah, I guess we should start making our way home huh? You know what mom says. Nothing ever good happens after midnight right?”

Frisk chuckled some and crouched down to scoop her Uncle in her arms, carrying him against her chest with a happy giggle. “C’mon silly bones. Lets go home.”

Sans let out a soft 'oof' when the woman scooped him up in her arms, but once he had gotten comfortable with the situation he was quick to relax. Closing one eye socket to shape a mischievous wink, he folded his own arms behind his head. Sure, after all, why shouldn't he let the other do all of the tedious footwork instead? He smirked and sagged deeper into her embrace. "gee. can't believe the dog kept us in the park until now." 

Blinking, he looked up at the sky above. It was a clear night, countless stars dotting the cloudless firmament. A rare sight for this late month of autumn. One, he, even to this day, hadn't grown tired of yet. Without averting his gaze from the beautiful view, he quirked an eyebrow at Frisk.

“Really? That’s a first.” Frisk chuckled and held him close, smiling down at the little pile of bones in her grip.

He was so tiny to her. After all, she remembered a time when they were both pretty close in height. It felt like so long ago now. The brunette couldn’t help but be taken aback though. It took a lot to surprise the normally easy going monster in her arms. Huh. She must’ve gotten him when he was half asleep or something.

“Sorry if I woke you up Dunkle Sans. Didn’t mean to.” Frisk explained with an apologetic grin. She settled the two of them on the grass, her small Uncle sitting on her lap as her arms coiled around him. “I just missed you is all. Heh…being Ambassador comes with it’s drawbacks.” The girl frowned some and let her chin rest against his skull. Frisk sighed, her gaze wondering over fluffy clouds overhead.

“It takes me away from all of you. All my meetings are so boring. I’d rather spend my time with my friend. My family. But I guess this way, I know I can do my part to keep you all safe. Still…Ii wish you guys could be with me more.” Frisk murmured quietly.

            * what could he say? he hadn’t slept very well last night and had been trying to catch up on a nap when Frisk arrived. not that the skeleton could complain. he missed the kid when she was busy keeping the peace between the monsters and humans. he knew it was a lot of work, but Frisk had the support of him and all the other monsters.             * speaking of Frisk, she certainly had gotten older. a lot more mature too. definitely an improvement over the kiddo he met down in the Underground. though, he did kind of miss Frisk being a lot smaller. made it easier to bug her.

                                      『 ❝ nah, it’s alright, kiddo. just haven’t slept much. ❞ 』

            * he chuckled softly and settled comfortably against her. at least she made for a comfortable pillow. and he really had missed her. him and Paps hadn’t really seen much of Frisk and Paps had been worried Frisk wouldn’t have time for them anymore.

umbra  couldn’t  stand  the  nonstop  blubbering  from  the  other  side  of  the  metal,  and  it  showed  in  the  way  her  voice  made  his  bones  all  rattle  together  violently.  he  turned  his  head  with  a  vicious  growl  and  approached  it  rapidly,  throwing  his  hands  against  the  bars  on  the  other  end  and  glared  down  at  her.*  SILENCE,  HUMAN  !!! his  voice  was  booming,  and  was  punctuated  by  his  left  eye  lighting  up  with  bright  red.  the  sparks  danced  against  the  white  of  his  skull,  and  the  anger  might  have  been  tasted  it  was  so  present.  he  had  captured  her-  yes…  but  that  wasn’t  what  he  was  supposed  to  do.  even  with  the  clear  upper  hand-  the  bruises  painting  her  skin  making  that  much  obvious-  he  couldn’t  finish  the  job.  he  could  NEVER  finish  the  job.  it  made  umbra  feel  weak-  and  that  rage  came  out  now  against  the  very  child  that  made  him  feel  that  way.*  KING  ASGORE  WILL  HAVE  YOUR  HEAD  ON  A  PLATTER  BY  THE  END  OF  THE  DAY.  AND  THAT’S  ONLY  IF  YOU  MANAGE  TO  MIRACULOUSLY  SURVIVE  ME.he  magically  generated  a  bone  and  hit  it  hard  against  the  bars  to  make  a  horrible  sound  for  effect.*  YOU  ARE  WHAT  STANDS  BETWEEN  ME  AND  EVERYTHING  I  COULD  BE.  YOU  ARE  A  GUILTY  PARTY  AUTOMATICALLY!!
