Founders Underground Mountain Brown on tap at Yard House in San Diego. A 4 of 4. Yep, this is great. Lots of great coffee and oak notes and some toffee sweetness from the malt character. The nose is the most complex with lots of bourbon and vanilla as well as more generic coffee roast. This is 12% so it definitely warms but the alcohol is not out of place. I’ve had many of the best stouts with some of these qualities, but it’s nice to have it in a brown ale, too.
