Len’s skin was goose pimpled under the overcoat, a long and gauzey thing transparent enough to make out the bumps that rose when the cooler spring breezes hit, complete with painted tigers and covered all over with blue LVs. Her outfit had required two people to get buckled into it, an elaborate get-up featuring a harness and boots that laced up over the knees. She buzzed with the energy derived from a few fat lines parted neatly on her vanity as she waited outside Moris, her foot tapping to some unheard rhythm. The look was subversive, and drew glances and interested stares from those who passed by (You look like a super villain, one freshman hesitantly remarked as she preened)— she couldn’t pretend that she didn’t delight in the attention, tossing her dark, cropped hair back as she waited at the bottom of the steps for Rowan. She didn’t know his name at first, but recognized his face from galleries and showings around campus. An art kid with some talent in pretty little drawings and paintings, good looking enough for her to look twice but not so bold that she’d make an introduction. Freya and Lana’s party paired them together, and at the sound of the front doors to the dorm pushing open, Len looked up, beaming sunnily at him as he came down the steps. “Hello angel,” she cooed, tucking her phone away to direct her full attention towards him, “I was about to freeze fucking solid if you didn’t make an appearance, you’d have to like, thaw me at the door.”
