Clarice Starling had started at the Ricer Clinic after her second year of college as a mental health councilor leading group therapy with the outpatient clients. When she returned after her Junior year she had evidently proven herself and had been given more responsibility. The task of patient intake and assessment now fell on her after hours. She was surprised as this was more commonly assigned to a Psych Nurse and while Clarice was pleased with the responsibility, she was also diligent and careful with the new task assigned her.
It would be just her luck that she would be assigned her new position on a Friday night, on the first hot night of summer, that coincided with a full moon. Now, people would joke that it must be a full moon whenever there was an onslaught of admissions at the center, but Clarice had noted that it actually seemed more true than incidental.
On this particular night the police dropped off what only could be described as a raving lunatic. At least, that was the testimony of the witness the police questioned, and was clearly stated in the paperwork that Clarice grasped in her sweaty and determined hands as the cops left the man in the locked and padded interrogation room.

Clarice reviewed the paperwork:
Glenn, Wade
23 year old Caucasian male
Known diagnosed Paranoid Schizophrenic off of his meds for at least 2 weeks and reports by family and friends to have been making threats against the President. The patient also exhibited labile mood, delusions of grandeur and both auditory and visual hallucinations for the last 10 days.

Clarice shook her her head and knew talking to him would only go so far. She checked the schedule and found the physician on call tonight.
Dr. Hannibal Lecter, MD - 410-332-6531
She didn't recognize the name but called the number and reached his call service. She alerted them that he had a patient that needed immediate evaluation and inpatient psych admission at the Ricer Clinic.
When she hung up she prepped the paper work so all the doctor had to do was add his admission note and sign the orders so his normal meds could be resumed. She watched the patient on the monitor until the doctor arrived. Mr. Glenn unfortunately was not behaving. He screamed and demanded to be released and even banged his head against the padded wall. Clarice sighed and hoped Dr. Lecter would arrive soon.
