I actually have a little backstory bit that involves all of them:

Even though Lev and Evgeny are quite obviously... not enemies, they sometimes do try and present themselves that way. There is a lot of fun and wild backstory to why that's the case, one of the prevalent reasons being that it was actually true at some point.

Evgeny was a successful vampire hunter, and Lev was a vampire trying to experiment with not drinking blood at all, which resulted in him losing control and randomly attacking people. That got him a "bloodthirsty monster" reputation and, sure enough, Evgeny was out to get him. Evgeny finds Lev, Lev can't control himself and attacks Evgeny, accidentally turning him, Evgeny now has a personal reason to hate Lev and hunt him down, all the premise for a good archenemies arc.

Until Evgeny accidentally stumbles upon a cult that's planning to summon something truly unspeakable, so his priorities shift from "kill the bastard" to "save the world", and after trying to stop the cultists himself a couple of times, he realizes he's in too deep. He can't really go to anyone for help - vampire and monster hunters won't work with him because he's a vampire, and vampires and monsters won't work with him because he's a vampire hunter.

So he turns to Lev as the absolutely last person he'd ever want to work with and proposes a temporary truce, stuff happens, they save the world (kinda. They couldn't stop the cultists from summoning the unspeakable horror, but they do talk things out with the unspeakable horror himself. Nice guy. Likes good tea. You might know him).
