Can’t say it enough but I loved Red’s scenes with Nate and I’m pretty sure if the show had continued we would’ve seen more of them. After all we went from this scene of Red pretending to talk Nate about an girlfriend and telling him to get out in part 1 to the two of them working on the house together and Red sharing with Nate about an ex-girlfriend (and this time quickly giving her name) in part 3

Red shrugged before deciding to share. “Figured I’d do my part to help avoid another messy, overly dramatic teenage break up happening around here.”

“Oh, good thinking,” she praised, nodding in approval before her head shook in the opposite direction. “I don’t think I could deal with another one of those. Especially after the last one!”

Kitty held out her shaky open palms as if she’d dropped the memory of the last break up onto the table and wanted nothing to do with it. That last teenage break up had been decades ago, between Jackie and Steven. It had involved name calling, insults, cheating or close to cheating—Red never bothered to find out the exact truth on that matter it didn’t really matter though once marrying a striper in Vegas came in to play. 1979 had been a rough year and Steven and Jackie’s bitter break up didn’t make it any better. The thought of Steven and Jackie though made Red’s mind shift straight to the most recent memory he had of Jackie. She had been the one friend of Eric’s that he could say he ever actually liked, now she made him frown just as much as the others.

“What the hell is the loud one thinking marrying Michael Kelso?” he grumbled to Kitty.

He wasn’t exactly expecting Kitty to have an answer but maybe she’d share some type of town gossip on how that catastrophe had happened. 

“Not just marrying, remarrying, and remarrying again,” Kitty pointed out, her face pulling into her exaggerated ‘it’s not good’ expression. “That means she married him before twice.”

“Yeah,” Red grunted a sort of sigh, that detail wasn’t lost on him either. He sharply turned to his wife again. “Which reminds me, where the hell were we for the first wedding?”
