âKassandra! Letâs go!â Dolos calls out from downstairs and looks at Remy, âI blame you for her being so extra.â
âOh look whoâs talking!â Remy laughs, shaking his head as he puts on his sunglasses, âYouâre the most extra out of both of us!â
âWhatever,â Dolos blushes and huffs, putting on his beanie, âKass!â
âIâm going, uncle Dee!â Kassandra yells back, putting on her boots and goes down, smiling at a Remy.
âLook! Sheâs wearing the boots I bought her!â Remy says proudly and kneels down, hugging her.
âIt better not be the uggs!â Dolos calls from the kitchen and walks over as he grabbed her backpack, âThank god itâs not. Alright, letâs get going you drama queens.â
âHey!â
Dolos laughs and walks out ahead of them, waiting for them. As they stepped out, they hold hands with their niece and swing her up randomly. She came into their lives when she was a year old during a dark night, being told Dolosâ sister and her husband died in a drunk driving accident. They were coming back from date night, when a drunk driver crashed into them. They were both in shock and not ready for a baby, but Dolosâ didnât want to let his baby sister down. He decided to take in her daughter and have been raising her ever since. Dolos would let her know that about his sister, showing pictures and videos of them together when she asked for it. Remy at first wasnât close, mostly from being unsure about being a parent so quick. After a while, he fell for Kassandra and they were both pretty much the same.
âIâm gonna make friends!â Kassandra smiles brightly.
âReally? How do you know?â Remy asks.
âI just know!â
Once they reach the park, Kassandra went towards the sandbox that was pretty much filled with kids. She greets them and the three girls there stared and soon started a conversation with her. Dolos and Remy watch from a table that was next to two fathers. They greet them, who wave back and they watch their Kassandra make friends.
