mack is getting fed up at will not being able to take a hint. he’s been practically throwing himself at will for weeks now and getting nowhere. 

he wears his shortest shorts around the house all day and lays down on his stomach so that will has the perfect view of his ass. when that doesn’t work, mack slinks himself into wills lap, pouting. they make out and grind against each other for an hour. mack slips his prettiest noises into wills mouth, will finally grabs at his ass and pulls him closer.

suddenly , will pulls back. he’s looking at mack with blown pupils, panting. mack thinks this is it, will’s gonna fuck him.

will who loves to watch mack take care of them every night, staring in awe, and when it rains will literally gives the shirt off his back for mack for put it on his head and protect his ears (eventually he learns to bring an umbrella everywhere just in case)

he assumes it’s the same sentiment in the snow, but no, turns out bunny mack actually loves the snow. he gets so excited when they’re somewhere snowy that he runs out the door and drags will out with him.

will has a nice speedboat that he takes mack on often. he sits mack down in his lap and talks him through all the driving controls, praising mack when he figures it out. mack stares at wills forearm as will ties the ropes, trying to wait patiently for will to make a move on him.

will takes him to all the nice waterfront restaurants, introducing him to the dock workers, wining and dining him nervously trying to impress/make a good impression on mack now that they get prolonged time alone.

will invites him to his favorite golf courses in the area, getting all up close and personal to help fix macks stance from behind. mack ends up shooting worse actually because he gets so flustered by wills whole body being pressed against him.

Mack gets shy whenever Will sees him and scrambles to get up, Will just fawns over it and shakes it off. He doesn't point it out because Mack looks so content and happy when he does it, he's scared saying something will make Mack stop.

Until one day he realizes the common denominator of all these spots is that they're in the direct sunlight. So one day when Mack isn't home, Will rearranges all the furniture so that they get the most sun possible.

As weird and unconventional as their house looks, when Mack realizes, his ears perk up excitedly and he drags Will to lay on the couch in the sun with him. He makes Will stay and pet his head for hours, purring on top of him, slowly shifting further as the sun moves through the room.

the clicking goes out of rhythm, the gears start rotating faster, and he thinks there's something seriously wrong because it causes him to feel warm and blush in the cheeks.

"will it keeps happening." mack whines, forcing will to bring his palm flat against mack's chest. "see?"

the longer wills hand stays on him, the worse it gets. his heart whirrs louder and he can feel the currents being pumped out, making his stomach feel weird.

turns out, according to his engineer, he has a crush. his stupid heart is acting funny because he has a crush on will and that's just what happens. apparently, its very human of him.

later when he gets back from the appointment, he turns to will on the couch and stares at his chest until will says something about it. it snaps mack out of his daze.

"what does yours feel like?" he asks, knowing what the average human heart rate it. knowing now what it means if he feels it speed up. will lets him feel and mack instantly clocks it going faster and fluttering.
