I'm a history major, but I've also been obsessed with history since I was a kid. I love it to death and want to continue to do it for the rest of my life. I might even want to get my PhD. someday in it. Therefore, if you ask me any questions about history I will be happy to answer them.

HOWEVER,

If you post a question that is obviously an essay question on a test, I will NOT do your homework for you. I just imagine myself being a professor and seeing that one of my students asked someone on Tumblr to answer their history essay for them and it honestly breaks my heart.

History is all about learning facts and interpreting them. It is not regurgitating "In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue." It's about "What were the cultural and political contexts for Columbus being granted persmission to sail to the New World? What was going on in Europe at the time that caused him to desire to go in the first place?" (As you can see, I'm not a professor by any means.) But THIS IS THE BEST PART OF HISTORY IN COLLEGE! 

You learn things and you analyze them and write about them in your own words. It's so much freedom! It's wonderful and yes, sometimes tedious. But seriously, it's awesome if you take the time and the effort.

So, in other words, do not send me questions about history that are obviously test questions because I will not answer them and probably give you the same lecture that I just gave you on here.

1. Movie that you have to stop everything and sit and watch every time it’s on TV?

Hmm, probably Immortal Beloved or Jane Eyre.

2. Most surreal moment of your life so far?

My vacation to California, or seeing the Perseid Meteor shower.

3. What is the best food cure for a hangover?

What works best for me is just a lot of coffee. Loads of coffee.

4. Best gift you’ve ever received?

A microphone. I wanted to be a singer when I was younger, so my parents bought me a microphone with a stand and everything. Totally pretended I was various singers throughout my use of that.

5. First physical feature you notice on a person?

Arms. I have a special love of arms. If you want to know what my perfect arms looks like, refer to Jason Dohring in Veronica Mars.

6. Guilty pleasure song?

"You've Really Got A Hold on Me" by The Miracles. 

7. Most regrettable piece of clothing you’ve owned?

A white knitted poncho. Yes, just like Haley James.

8. Person you’d most want to be stranded on an island with?

This sounds weird but I would want it to be with someone I didn't know personally. If I did know them, I would just worry about them the whole time and make myself sick. That being said, I would probably just go with a celebrity like Jennifer Lawrence or Dylan McDermott. 

9. Favorite word in a language other than your native tongue?

Los pantalones cortos. It means shorts in Spanish and I have no idea why I love it so much.

10. Fictional character you most identify with?

Hands down Jane Eyre. Second is Katniss Everdeen.

11. One place on earth you absolutely must see before you die?

Windsor Castle or the Eiffel Tower.
