The words sting more than he’d care to admit. He had been so sure that they both wanted to spend the rest of their lives together & now that she has admitted she’s not sure? It crushes him. No matter what she says, no matter what happens between them, Harry knows that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.

Why is she having doubts? It doesn’t make sense! In the span of a few seconds, a smile has fallen flat, & eyes that had previously been alight with a happy gleam for just being around her are now filled with agony. He rather be stabbed with his own hook than feel this sort of pain.

They’d been sneaking around for a couple of weeks now. Both decided it was better to keep it a secret, saves them a whole lot of trouble. And that way they wouldn’t have to deal with the reality of it all. Honestly? Mal could easily convince her mother this was an evil scheme to get at Uma and the pirates. But it wasn’t about that, if it were she would’ve already thrown it in their faces by now. Nah, this was something beyond her mother. Something from herself && her alone. That it’s right under Uma’s nose makes it better, yeah, it amuses her. Makes it more fun when they settle yet another score between their groups. Harry had only just left, Mal was finishing putting on her last boot as she heard the footsteps. Assumed he forgot something.

It’s like a breath of fresh air, hearing such words come from such beautiful lips. The words come as a surprise & that is clear in the way Harry visibly reacts. His eyes widen, he looks like some sort of deer stuck in headlights.

As much as he loved Uma, he hadn’t ever expected her to return his feelings. He hadn’t expected those words to come from her mouth. Was this a dream? If it was, he doesn’t want to wake up.

It’s not true. There are many people who care about Uma. The whole crew cares about Uma. Of course, not to the extent he does, but they respect her. Even so, Harry will not point that out. Not right now.

He’s staring at her silently. Maybe he’s staring too much but he can not help it. Her clothes are in disarray & it is not often that she seems so untidy. Did she....? No, no way. But? The thought is there & he can not squash it down.

She looks like she’d just got done having a quickie with someone & it strikes up a jealous flame within him that keeps building & building, refusing to go out. His gaze turns into a glare, though he does not mean to direct an angry stare at her.
