     davina had no choice but to accept ( temporary ) defeat. she’d lost her position as regent, her connection with the ancestors and been shunned by the witches of new orleans in consequence of her actions. ever since that day, she’d distanced herself from everyone. days and nights were spent in the claire crypt. tirelessly flipping through pages of the grimoire and objects that had been in her families possession for centuries, trying to find a way to regain what was rightfully hers. yet a month had passed and she’d gotten nowhere. it was all beginning to feel pretty pointless. with a heavy sigh, she placed the grimoire down on the table and stepped outside. the new orleans air had a bite to it, and she tugged her jacket tighter around her frame as she headed down to the diner across the street. the food there was shit, but at least she could go there with confidence that she wouldn’t encounter anyone she knew.

                 perhaps it was the JEALOUSY building up inside of him, or it was just                  his inner wolf. but the mere idea of hayden leaving to join theo’s pack.                  leaving him behind without a single WORD sent his way, only formed                  FURIOUSITY inside of him. this was not fair, losing hayden to that                  pathetic “alpha” was not fair. it’s almost an animal instinct, when he                  pins the girl down to the dirty floor, to CLAIM her.
