I am gonna go batshit INSANE rn.
In ULTRAKILL we play as a fucking robot. Not a special one. Just a robot that happens to be exceptionally lethal. A robot that can heal himself. V2, the Street Cleaners, Swordsmachine, Drones, Mindflayers are not too different from us. We are NOT the main character.
Icing on the cake, so many significant things happened before we arrived. The end of humanity, the great war, Minos turning the layer of lust into a fucking city, Sisyphus trying to take over heaven, so on and so forth. By the time we arrive there is nothing left to happen. Us killing Minos Prime adds nothing to the story because of we didn't kill him he would be stuck in Flesh Prison forever anyway. The entire story of ULTRAKILL revolves around Gabriel since we arrived.
This game has made me question what games are supposed to be, how a story is meant to be written. ULTRAKILL is a game that cannot be lived up to. Because god dang it I have never played something like this.
