#ultimctum

knuckles scarred from years of bruising and splitting rap gently against joseph pulitzer’s office door. that’s right: jack kelly actually knocked before entering. he feels barging right in unannounced wouldn’t be quite appropriate for this visit. after all, when asking for a man’s permission to marry his daughter, you want him to be under the impression that you’re a decent fellow and not just some pain in the ass teenager with no respect for anyone or anything anymore. over the last couple of years, jack likes to think he’s patched as much up with pulitzer as he possibly can, and has more than proven his dedication for katherine. but the ultimate say is up to good ol’ joe, and if he wants to give katherine the nice traditional wedding she deserves, he has to respect that. if she says yes, of course. he’s really hoping she says yes.

What does Joseph EXPECT? Is he waiting for Jack to break and cry right then and there? For Jack to throw in the towel and give up just because he felt insulted? To win this war through pettiness?

He could try all he liked, and though Jack did feel the STING of Pulitzer’s insults like a slap on the face, his boiling anger kept his mouth running.

character in general: people make pulitzer out to be a total dick but i think he’s rather lovely? how they play them: really really well. INCREDIBLY in character and it’s always surprising how perfect he is :) the mun: i’ve heard fantastic things about you from bee and we should really talk more !! you seem like an absolute sweetheart xo

what is my;

overall opinion: absolutely perfection. it’s really nice and refreshing to see someone actually portraying pulitzer as a ‘nice’ guy? if that makes sense? and i adore them!
