This weekend is set to see anti-migrant protests across the UK so stay safe out there punks, activists, and counter protestors.

Individuals from Homeland, and Patriotic Alternative as well as independents are all set to show up today and tomorrow.

This follows the rioting in Epping where anti migrant groups attacked a migrant hotel. Anti-racism activists, counter protestors, and trade unionists outnumbered a recent protest outside the hotel in Epping, and we can only hope our lot will show up in force again to drown out the hate.

Stand up to Racism is ready to mobilise, but be aware riot police are out in force also.

Remember also that today is the pro palestine protest in London, so nearly 3000 riot police ready to mobilise across country even for a separate set of protests means greater vigilance

the kid was not killed by immigrants, IIRC. But even if she were, the people who got attacked were innocent (much like in Amsterdam). Tbh, I haven't heard anyone except Jews talk about the pogrom, other than to cheerfully congratulate the perpetrators lol.

Nevertheless you're right that for the most part, a lot of people only really pay attention to shit like this when the victims look like them and I would also argue that antisemitism plays a role in why people constantly blast shit like this like we say, "no Jews, no news" what we mean is, the Taliban literally made it illegal for women to speak in public in Afghanistan and nobody fucking cares because they can't scream "death to Israel" ykwim.

With hate crimes in England and Wales more than trebling in the last decade, a reckoning is clearly needed. In our structurally racist society, one where the rhetoric of politicians and media outlets has demonstrable real-world consequences, locking up a relatively select few hardened racists as though this were a law and order problem and moving on is not that. So what is the answer to the likes of Peter Lynch? An education programme would have seemed more appropriate, but surely pointless unless our society actually addressed its entire respectable, establishment-level racism. What point trying to educate Lynch about his bigotry if he could listen to a frontline politician or read a front page confirming all his worst prejudices the next day? Prison offers few meaningful solutions to most social ills: the idea this inherently racist institution will solve what British elites have incited is an absurd utopian daydream.
