I'll say it again, even if we're barking up the wrong tree with our speculation about the YouGov thing (and the theory that it's a streamer gauging interest and using the BBC release as a litmus test), the advice to keep pushing the numbers on iPlayer and the live BBC screenings, and trying to boost interest in the UK as much as we can, is still good advice.
These things will only be a net positive for us because all three of the streamers we are currently targeting have a presence in the UK. We are an audience they want, and are aiming for, and proving that the show is potentially lucrative in the UK is really important in terms of making it viable for pick-up. If they're not using it as a litmus test already, then we can make it into one anyway, and show them the potential that the show has here.
So keep pushing, keep streaming, keep getting your friends and family to watch, and keep making noise in the UK!
Posting this for anyone who noticed this/was upset by this (and thanks to @tevintersoldier for pointing it out)
I got a response to my complaint to the BBC - for those who don’t know there was an incidence of misgendering Jim in the subtitles, which has now been fixed. 🙌
Ok I’m starting to get a bit pissed off at the Radio Times.
First, we had the write up by fan favourite (/s) Jack Seale claiming that OFMD only had ‘one joke’, now we have an article that is basically saying Taika’s schedule is the reason there’s no season 3 🤪
Despite David Jenkins coming out and explicitly stating that Taika was fully onboard for another season.
It’s very annoying because Radio Times is massive in the UK - lots of people get their tv listings and entertainment news from them and this is what they’re saying.
Fans of the series aren't letting Our Flag Means Death go without a fight, but why has the pirate comedy series been cancelled?
*tears out hair*
Front page of the iPlayer app baby!
All episodes up to watch now! (except 02x08, they must be saving that one)
Also ‘you have me hearty’ is cracking me up, what a terrible pun lol.

Nathan Foad's BTS IG Dump
In honor of S2 coming out in the UK tomorrow Nathan Foad uploaded a bunch of BTS pics and videos to his IG. I'm just throwing a chunk of them in a post so I can reference them in the recap tonight, there are videos I didn't include. To see them all visit his IG. I'm sure the folks who bring the bts stuff to tumblr will have a better post for ya! Please send Nathan some thanks for his awesomeness!
4 days till OFMD hits iPlayer!!
Idk, even though I’ve already watched it a million times I’m just really excited. There’s gonna be so many new fans and they’re gonna be pissed when they find out this show was cancelled.

Yes, it’s great that we’re getting some press but really? One joke? C’mon Jack, mate…
EDIT: this guy has history of writing stuff about the show that is similarly infuriating (and doesn’t seem to understand comedy): https://amp.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2023/jan/04/our-flag-means-death-review-a-total-waste-of-most-of-the-best-comedians-in-the-world
This pirate comedy is executive-produced by Taika Waititi and boasts a superb cast of comic greats. So why do they provide none of the prope
