“ tell me something that i don’t know . “ she raises her glass to that, a cheers of sorts. to herself. to them. “ but i wouldn’t be the woman that i am today without you, sweetheart. nobody compares to me because they don’t have a supporting, beautiful, wonderful wife. “ their wedding guests cheer and coo at fiona’s words. “ and i’m so proud that i get to call you that, darling. mrs siobhan goode. my BETTER half. “

In response to something I seen in someone's ask but I didn't want to fill their inbox with this and also under read more for obvious reasons [it deals with race just so you know]
I hope you don’t mind me putting this here Pary but I didn’t want to send you a bunch of asks for this but to the anon that said in their ask to about how being mixed is considered beautiful in America – idk if they’re mixed or not but as someone who is mixed, I wanna say I wonder why people think this?? Because the inner turmoil I’ve dealt with growing up alongside the comments of others tend to make me think otherwise. I’ve gotten a lot of things said to me while growing up and one of the harshest things I’ve gotten was being called a half n*****. ‘I can’t even tell you’re part black because you’re so WHITE. OH I forgot you grew up around the white side of your family not your black side, that’s why you’re the way you are.’ ‘So do you consider yourself black or white??’ ‘You DO know that you are part black right quit trying to make it seem like you’re white.’ You know how many guys have turned me down after realizing I was part black? They thought I was half Asian. That’s actually even worse because in a way that’s fetishizing. Oh you’re not half Asian nvm I don’t want to date you. ‘You’re really pretty for being part black.’ ‘You’re hair isn’t like a black girls it’s somewhat white!’ I could go on and on to be honest. I used to find myself ugly because I was part black when I was younger because that’s what was drilled into my head. If I was full white, I’d be prettier, etc. etc. So maybe it’s these things holding me back from thinking that being mixed is considered beautiful in America or maybe I missed a memo somewhere….
