If you’re going to court…
i haven’t personally been to one of luigi’s court appearances, but this is my understanding based on what i’ve heard from others, read, and my experience working in the legal field:
🖤 if you’re planning to attend, get there as early as possible. people often line up very early in the morning, and there is only so much space available for members of the public once room is made for court staff, attorneys, media, and other necessary personnel.
🖤 dress respectfully. i’ve seen people attend court in jeans before, but as a paralegal i would rather die than walk into a courtroom in jeans lol. first impressions matter, and looking presentable never hurts.
🖤 expect to go through security. everyone will likely be required to pass through metal detectors before entering the courthouse.
🖤 if you are admitted, court staff will usually direct you where to go and where to sit. follow their instructions and be patient.
🖤 please be quiet in the courtroom. silence your phone completely, and i would avoid texting, scrolling, or using your phone while court is in session. the bailiffs will notice, and they generally do not appreciate distractions.
🖤 most importantly: be respectful. attending a high-profile court proceeding is a privilege, not a right. treat court staff, attorneys, journalists, and other attendees with courtesy. you never know who’s sitting next to you! (i know this from experience)
🖤 and one last thing: be mindful of what you say out loud. you never know who might be sitting nearby. that person next to you could be an attorney, a paralegal, a reporter, a court employee, or even a judge.
i hope this helps, and i hope everyone who attends stays safe and respectful. 🖤
