* Mettaton attacks!

i got reminded of the virtual boy and thought that the colors would be perfect for underfell, so i made a battlesprite for mettaton! i'm not the greatest at shading but i try lol. would you believe me if i said that this was my first custom battlesprite? because it is.

I remember seeing that! I love that idea so much! :D

I have 3 major UFPapyrus headcanons, kinda conflicting, which is part of what prompted that comic-thing I did last week, because I realized just how much they conflict:

A good boy! He’s a huge dork and too much of a sweetheart to actually hurt anyone or really even exist in a world like Underfell. He’s not particularly good at faking the for-teh-evulz persona, and it takes even less to crack him than it does to get him to not capture you in Undertale. He can’t justify what he’s doing. Maybe the barrier isn’t worth breaking. Maybe the “evil” isn’t worth spreading. And maybe this strange little human is the only one who will ever like him, but at least it’s SOMETHING. (This version is either in training like UT Pap or is a lieutenant entirely because its the safest job in the entire underground. He’s a good kid and Undyne’s hoping to keep him that way. It’s so rare to meet someone down here who’s genuinely hopeful and passionate and kind. She’s gotta cherish it! Protect him!)

A cool guy! Basically the above, but he’s actually really good at the persona. It turns out all his over the top dramatic tendencies are taken completely seriously and at face value. He loves it! He loves the way people treat him with respect, and he loves the attention and while part of him wishes that things were nicer, and monsters were nicer, and that he could just hang out and be friends, part of him likes the fear, too. He feels powerful and it’s… really nice? He never had this kind of recognition before! He’s embraced the image, and now he has a hard time toning it down or turning it off, but he can’t really believe that people are buying this holy shit. He’s sort of in over his head, but he loves the attention and he’s trying his best! (This version is 100% already in the Guard. Probably lieutenant,because Undyne is really impressed with him! Papyrus secretly thinks they might become friends someday!! She’s not as mean as she acts, either. It’s nice! Allies!)

A guardsman. Basically the above… only he got in over his head, and his best… just wasn’t good enough. He wasn’t strong enough. He could only avoid the inevitable for so long. Everyone kills. It’s just a fact of life. He’s not naive anymore. And lately… when he gives people the cold glare, it’s not an act anymore. It’s not fun anymore. It’s just. Him. (This version is probably captain. He was stronger than her. It was inevitable. All he had to do… was stop holding back. Alliances never last.)

So basically, sweetheart who can’t even fake it, secretly friendly fellow who absolutely CAN fake it, and Mr. Angstlord who’s slowly forgotten that he’s been faking it. 

All three would flip hard in the opposite direction if they ever had the opportunity. All three are not huge fans of the direction the Underground is heading in. (And as a consequence, all three kinda sorta maybe a bit fantasize about usurping Asgore, with varying levels of seriousness about it)  

But all of them are good on the inside! It’s all just a matter of depth.

Anyway now that I’ve rambled on about that, here’s a little babby UF Papy meeting his idol. He’s very excited!

To me in Underfell, since Mettaton is technically trapped in the body that Alphys originally has him in, he wouldn’t really go for a design similar to that one, specifically in SHAPE. Right ingredients, Wrong meal (does that make sense).
