Thereās something about Zoraās laughter that is deeply unsettling at times. When itās genuine, itās a delightful thing. But when it comes from a place thatās not joy, thatās not legitimate enjoyment - it feels different, eerie in ways that is hard to articulate. It is in this moment when Zora finds themselves in the middle of a fit, a nervous fit of laughter that doesnāt seem real, feel real.
Itās hard for them to remember where they are until they hear Udyatiās voice, asking if they are okay. That seems to shut them up quite suddenly, going from being very vocal to being near silent. The difference is stunning.
Wide, otherworldly eyes glance at Udyati before glacing at the tray. āI.. Iām not sure if Iām okay. But Iām sorry for causing you trouble. Sometimes .. things come up in my mind and the only thing I can do is laugh, a weird, contorted, uncomfortable laugh. But laugh nevertheless. Maybe itās a need to release a tension that has been weighing on me.ā
They softly sit deeper within the chair, their eyes going to the variety of snacks. āI.. I canāt ask you to help me with much. I wonāt bother you too much.ā Besides Udyati was what..18 or so? Not to say that she couldnāt be helpful, she could be in many ways.. it just felt irresponsible for Zora to place anything on her. And so they wonāt.
Instead, they take one of the sweets and take a bite from it, hoping the taste will at least center them for a little while.
