“It was always God’s plan, never my plan” Going into UCR, I thought I could get this degree in my sleep, but I ended up having to take a more resistant path. Failing caused me to isolate myself & I found myself beginning to drown in my own guilt & shame. Fear paralyzed me. What I used to be able to do with ease, became some of the most difficult tasks for me. I eventually got the help I needed but that wasn’t the end of my struggles. This journey has taught me so much about myself. I’ve grown & conquered beyond what I could imagine. Countless times I wanted to give up. I heard more “no’s” than I did “yes”, but by the grace of God I was able to persevere. This was never what I imagined for myself at all, but I’m so grateful for UCR, the people I met along the way, & the lives I hope to change in the future. I won’t waste time telling all my experiences, but just know I am a living testimony that God is a miracle worker.
