Along with works from his series, Brooklyn Gang, Time of Change, East 100th Street, and Subway, we are also streaming Davidson's short film “Isaac Singer’s Nightmare and Mrs. Pupko’s Beard,” first weekends of every month. The rarely-seen film, a blend of fact and fiction about writing and the idiosyncrasies of life inspired by Isaac Bashevis Singer’s short story, “The Beard,”  features Singer himself. Davidson only made three films, this being the last. After several decades of shooting documentary still photography, he said his images were feeling too “still.” He made this film in 1972.
