U’thel I did my best to go with a sort of Headless Horseman vibe, and Lily is a Dryad (based on this depiction of a dryad)!!

Lily hummed as she sorted through the various flowers. U’thel had brought them to her, an assortment of wild and store-bought - and a smile crossed her lips at the thought that that was, perhaps, how U’thel saw her. Wild, but tame all the same.

Loa knew she saw him that way, a reckless wild thing, but a sophisticated gentleman when it was required of him.

She caught a glimpse of him through the stalks of the dark purple calla lilies he’d bought, sitting on some crates near the end of the dock. He was brooding. Again.

Sighing, Lily tugged at her skirts, then stepped around the table where she was setting up the flowers. She made her way out the door, spending a moment to look for him again before heading toward him. U’thel stared off into the distance.

When she was close enough, Lily bumped him with her hip.

“Have your chickens hatched yet?”

He gave her a look - then realization flickered through his eyes. An unexpected laugh escaped him and he grabbed Lily by the hips, pulling her to stand between his legs.

“Uh-huh, because I be sittin’ here broodin’, right?”

With a smile pulling at her lips, Lily nodded in agreement. U’thel chuckled, drawing slow circles over her exposed skin with his thumbs.

“Naw. They still be cookin’.”

“Cooking!” she repeated, cupping his face in her hands. His eyes fluttered, and she leaned forward to nuzzle her nose into his hair.

“Yeah, like they be incubatin’,” U’thel muttered, leaning into her touch.

“Hm… I hope they hatch soon,” Lily whispered back, letting her hands drift down to his shoulders. He turned his head up to her expectantly. With a smile and a sigh, Lily leaned down to press her lips firmly to U’thel’s.
