tylejandro (or as people like to say.. aletyler.) is actually overhated for the dumbest reasons. most of them being 'the video', it being a fanon ship, or simply because 'aleheather/lyler is better'. (don't come at me, i ship those too but im just saying) now think of the actual impact it could've had on the total drama fandom, if that video never existed.
tylejandro is a really cute ship if you think about it hard enough, whenever platonic or romantic. if anything, the friendship they had in the show could've been *genuine*. now hear me out. if alejandro was /really/ using tyler as a "extra vote", alejandro most likely would've not let him be eliminated in the area 8 episode. maybe tyler broke the artifact, sure- but what did owen do? he was captured, did the running man, and fainted causing alejandro and duncan have to carry him. clearly alejandro wouldn't of have liked that, right? (no hate to owen. love the guy.) and even in the previous and later episodes, alejandro still shows signs of hatred to owen, so why would he have kept him and eliminated tyler? it doesn't make sense, tyler may of have been one of alejandro's good allies so it doesnt make sense to as why alejandro would've willingly eliminate tyler and kept owen in the game. i hope this is making sense to you.
