❛ you always were good at putting people back together. ❜
His words take her by surprise. She looks towards him, mouth parted as she waits for the words to fully sink in. It hits her harder than she knows that it should but for weeks she’s felt like nothing but a failure. A bad mom, a bad wife. She can’t seem to escape the feelings of being less than she should and the feeling is only worse now that they’re surrounded by death and nothing is promised. But his words reflected that he’d seen things in a different light; in another perspective she hadn’t completely failed.
Lori doesn’t know what to say, doesn’t know what to do as her gaze drops down to her hands. ❛ 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐌𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐁𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐖𝐇𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓. ❜ A few seconds pass before she lifts her head back up and turns to face him, a slight smile lifting the corners of her lips but it isn’t reflected in her eyes. He hadn’t been around her long enough to see how easy it was for her to mess things up. ❛ But thank you, I try my best and I guess sometimes that’s enough. ❜
