The capacity to battle all things that threaten her homeland is a comfort Eriene holds onto. What transpired during and after the Scourge invasion was a difficult lesson learned for her. She lacked the skill, the experience and fortitude to safeguard those she loves the most. Joining the Blood Knight Order not only gave her the power to bear arms, but it also offered her a foundation she can always fall back upon when everything else in her life no longer makes sense.
In exchange, she renounced a large part of herself to get to where she is today. Becoming a Blood Knight is not without sacrifice when a person is forced to commit “evil deeds” for the greater good. It is a price she would readily pay for again were she given the chance, regardless of the disappointment others might feel toward the changes she had to make – particularly the ones who knew her before the Fall. She would rather endure any chagrin or resentment aimed in her direction than allow herself to be powerless again.
