I have been so scared to do this in case i hurt him, I'd be devestated! But i bathed Fred! I'm pretty sure i got rid of the brown gunk on his face, also i didn't get a good photo of it but his paws are much cleaner! The flannel i was using literally ran black a bit after ringing it out when i did his paws! I gave his whole body a good scrub though, as after the many years of snuggling and sweating he did smell a lil gross, so that helped!
If he needs a round 2 i will do that, but i think he seems fine. I just got some warm water, melted a detergent pod in it, soaked a flannel in it, rung all the water out, then just scrubbed. After i was satisfied i then rung out the flannel in cold water then scrubbed him again to get rid of soap and just really scrub at those dirty areas, working on separate parts individually at a time
I feel like you can't notice much in the second "after" photo, but in person it is much more noticable, especially as a lot of the dirt was on the side that is in shadow. I lightly toweled him off and held him in it a bit, now he is laying out on my airer by the window so he can fully dry!
